Maybe I should not do this, but I say to my clients: “You are my boss. I give you advice, you decide if you want to follow it.” The reason that I say that maybe I should not do this is because I have worked with and for several other attorneys. I am not sure I have worked with one that has this philosophy.

As criminal defense attorneys, my law partner and I are in court every single day. That is not an exaggeration. Many times we will be in three or four courthouses before lunch. That is when the “normal” reappearances usually take place. Trials and contested hearings are set in the afternoon by most Judges. As a result, we are seldom sitting at our desks.
