What is the very best way to talk with a Criminal Defense Attorney?

As criminal defense attorneys, my law partner and I are in court every single day. That is not an exaggeration. Many times we will be in three or four courthouses before lunch. That is when the “normal” reappearances usually take place. Trials and contested hearings are set in the afternoon by most Judges. As a result, we are seldom sitting at our desks. And even when we are sitting at our desks, we are not just waiting for the phone to ring.

That is why we highly recommend that you call and schedule an appointment to speak with us about your case. Simply calling and leaving a message is not the best way to make sure you speak to us. Let’s schedule a time that is good for both of us. We will work with you to fit you in around your work or school schedule. An unending game of phone tag is not fun or productive for anyone.

We prefer to meet with our potential clients in person. This will give us a feel for each under and you can understand that we are not some attorney working out of a local library or Starbucks. However, we understand that coming into the office is not always the most convenient. We do allow for phone appointments. Just be warned, if you are facing a serious felony charge or a DWI, a phone consultation is probably not going to get you all of the information you desire. These are complicated cases and not one that can be summed up (at least not thoroughly and well) in 10 minutes on the phone.

A word of warning: if you are rolling through a list of attorneys and you are going to go in and hire the first attorney that can get you in… Well, think about that for a second. Why is that attorney able to meet with you at the drop of a hat? Are you going to be their only client?

A word of warning part two: if you are calling around to find the cheapest attorney… Well, think about this too. You get what you pay for. That doesn’t mean you have to find the most expensive attorney in town, but it doesn’t mean you should go with the cheapest. Why is that attorney giving away the case price? Are they really going to work for you at a quarter of the rate of the normal case price in Springfield, Missouri?

Our office is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We do make appointments for before and after hours and on Saturdays. Call our paralegal, Kyleigh, and she will get you calendared.
